Professional Registration & Regulation
House of Brìghde is owned and operated by Dr Kim Hanning Jackson, a General Medical Council (GMC)-registered medical doctor who practises as a Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the NHS.
House of Brìghde will be registered with and regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) in accordance with statutory requirements for independent healthcare providers in Scotland (TBC)
All services are delivered in compliance with:
- GMC Good Medical Practice and supplementary GMC guidance on advertising, communication, consent, and confidentiality
- All relevant UK and Scottish medical, healthcare, and consumer protection regulations
- The Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
- Food Standards Scotland and UK food safety, hygiene, and labelling regulations
- Local council regulations
- Accommodation and retreat business regulations in Scotland
- Applicable holistic wellness and herbal product regulations in the UK

The House of Brìghde is a Member of the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and an Executive Member of the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).
Nature of Services
House of Brìghde offers services that are non-acute, supportive, and educational in nature, including:
- Holistic lifestyle, nutrition, and wellbeing consultations and related services
- Educational resources on food as medicine, herbal traditions, and integrative self-care practices
- Retreats and workshops combining nutrition, movement, and nature-based wellness
- Functional diagnostic testing via regulated laboratories (see scope below)
Scope Limitations
- No acute medical services
We do not provide urgent or emergency medical treatment. In a medical emergency, please contact NHS 111 (UK), call 999, or attend the nearest Accident & Emergency department. - Diagnostic services
- House of Brìghde does not provide acute hospital-style diagnostic services and does not replace the role of your GP or NHS specialist.
- Certain functional diagnostic tests may be offered, conducted exclusively via approved and regulated diagnostic laboratories.
- These tests may examine clinical data relating to gut health, nutrition, immune function, endocrine system, and genomics, with the aim of identifying underlying contributors to chronic health issues and barriers to optimal wellness.
- Test results are interpreted within the context of holistic wellness support. Where clinically appropriate, clients will be referred to their GP or another relevant healthcare professional for further investigation or treatment.
- No guarantees of results
No claims are made to cure, fix, eradicate, or reverse any medical condition. Outcomes vary depending on individual circumstances. - Not a substitute for your GP
Our services are intended to complement, not replace, medical care provided by your GP or other qualified healthcare professionals.
Food, Nutrition & Herbal Products
- All food and herbal products are prepared, labelled, and stored in compliance with Food Standards Scotland and UK legislation, including allergen labelling requirements.
- Nutritional and herbal guidance is for general wellbeing purposes only and does not constitute medical treatment.
- No products or advice are intended to replace prescribed medication unless agreed in writing with your GP or specialist.
Commercial Transparency & Product Disclaimer
Dr Kim Hanning Jackson is a GMC-registered medical doctor and the owner of House of Brìghde, which includes a living apothecary offering herbal and natural products for sale.
In accordance with GMC Good Medical Practice and the guidance on Financial and Commercial Arrangements and Conflicts of Interest:
- Any advice, guidance, or recommendations given during consultations or retreats are based solely on professional judgement, training, and the individual needs of the client.
- Clients are under no obligation to purchase products from the House of Brìghde apothecary. Products may be sourced from any supplier of the client’s choosing.
- When a product is mentioned or discussed, this does not constitute an instruction to purchase from House of Brìghde.
- No products are promoted as “cures” or as having guaranteed therapeutic outcomes. Any discussion of potential benefits will be balanced, evidence-based where possible, and within the limits of regulatory guidance from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Food Standards Scotland, and UK advertising law.
- All herbal and nutritional products sold by House of Brìghde are provided in accordance with UK product safety, labelling, and advertising regulations, and without unlicensed medical claims.
Confidentiality & Data Protection
- All client information is handled in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and GMC confidentiality guidance.
- Records are stored securely using encrypted systems, including Practice Better, which may store data outside the UK under approved international safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses).
